The first image is Short depth of field?

i tried to focus on the 2 cups n saucers n make the people in the background blur.

Also my camera is a Fuji film fine pix (very old) doesnt have many of the settings. It took me a long time to figure out how to change the settings for these four photos. So next time im going to hire a canon or a nikon.
